TERMS & CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

1. THE PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB ARE TO -
1.1 Develop, maintain and provide services and privileges to all Club members.
1.2 Develop opportunities for collaboration and networking between members.
1.3 Provide exclusive trips for members to hunt large game in the UK and abroad.
2. DEFINITIONS
2.1 The Club – Capreolus Club Limited.
2.2 Officers of the Club – the Club Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer.
2.3 Executive Committee – the Officers and other Directors of the Club.
3. LEGAL STATUS
3.1 The Club is a limited company and subject to the Companies Act 2006.
4. CLUB RULES
4.1 The Rules are drawn from the Club Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Executive Committee’s standing instructions.
5. STRUCTURE
5.1 Executive Committee - Its members, who are the Directors of the Company, are elected at the AGM and are responsible for the ongoing direction and the management of the Club. Any member or Honorary Club Member, as defined in section 6 of these Rules, with two or more year’s continuous Membership of the Club, may be nominated for election to fill a vacancy on the Committee.
6. MEMBERSHIP
6.1 Eligibility - any person over 18 years of age and has an interest in shooting deer and large game and/or who is in agreement with the Club’s prime objectives.
6.2 Classes of Membership are -
(a) Member - a current subscriber to the Club using a UK address.
(b) Overseas Member - a current subscriber to the Club using an address outside the UK.
(c) Honorary Member - a person who, in the opinion of the Officers of the Club, is worthy of a non subscribing Membership for services to the sport, industry or to the Club - such Membership to be reviewed annually.
(d) Non shooting Member - a current subscriber to the Club. This may be an individual or representative of another organisation or company.
6.3 Proposals for Membership - Candidates for Membership shall be proposed by one Member and seconded by another, each of whom shall vouch in writing from their personal knowledge for the fitness of the Candidate. If the candidate does not know another member within the Club, the candidate will be interviewed and assessed by an Officer of the club.
6.4 The requirements of joining are stringent and are designed in order to ensure that Members are able to dispatch large game in a humane and effective manner. To this end, the Executive Committee may request that Candidates conduct a marksmanship test and/or course in order to ensure competence.
6.5 Admission to Membership-the Club office shall accept Membership applications from eligible applicants. The Executive Committee meets four times each year (end of March, June, September and December to consider applications. Candidates will be contacted in writing with the Committee decision and acceptable candidates Membership with start from the 1st day of the month. No rejected candidate shall again be proposed as a Member until the expiration of six months from the date of such rejection.
6.6 Expulsion from Membership – the Officers of the Club may expel from Membership of the Club any Member whom the Executive Committee at its sole discretion shall consider unfit to remain a Member without having to give a reason for such action. Any Member so expelled shall forfeit all privileges of Membership and all rights against the Club and shall not be entitled to a refund of any subscription monies paid prior to expulsion.
7. SUBSCRIPTIONS
7.1 Joining Fees can be paid by cheque, BACS or electronic transfer. The joining fee is non refundable.
7.2 Membership fees are reviewed in the month of March each year by the Executive Committee and Members will be contacted with details of any changes. Annual Membership starts on the 1st April each year. Renewal is automatic and no notice will be given.
7.3 Membership payments are taken quarterly on an ongoing basis by electronic direct debit using our secure Go Cardless banking system.
7.4 Ceasing Membership – After one year, Members seeking to resign their Membership should state this in writing to the Club Chairman.
8. EVENTS
8.1 Dress Code-Club meetings and social events are held across London in a number of prestigious venues, each of which requires a particular dress code.
Members will be informed of any requirements in the Members log in area of the website www.capreolusclub.co.uk and on club event correspondence.
8.2 The Club offers Members numerous trips throughout the year. These trips are offered on a first come first served basis.
8.3 Use of Alcohol -The Club has a zero tolerance policy on shooting days. Members should abstain from drinking any alcoholic beverages both before and during a day’s shooting. Members are also expected to apply particular caution when drinking alcoholic beverages in the evening, if they are to be using firearms the following day. Anyone suspected/or over the limit for driving will be forfeit the days shooting activity and/or may be disciplined/expelled from the Club.
9, AMENDMENTS AND INTERPRETATION OF THE RULES
9.1 These Rules may be changed, varied or revoked by the Executive Committee and any change, variation or revocation of the Rules shall be deemed to have been brought to the notice of the Members and take immediate effect by posting details of such change on the Club website.
9.2 The Executive Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of these Rules made hereunder and their decision shall be final and binding on the Members.
